1910: first flight meeting in Bergerac. CCI Dordogne Archives.
Pre-war memories : the pioneers of aviation started a fl ight meeting on the Piquecaillou marsh, at the gates of Bergerac.
1930 : Creation of the Dordogne Aero Club.
1939 : The buildings and the runway are moved to Roumanière.
1968: Président of Bergerac Chamber of Commerce and Industry, André Javerzac (in the middle), made the opening of the runway. CCI Dordogne Archives.
May 1969 : Mr. Boisseau, a transporter, and Mr. Lagarde, a car saleman, propose organizing a daily flight from Bergerac to Paris and back on a 4-seater
Piper Aztec. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the town of Bergerac offer a subsidy and join in the adventure: hence, the birth of Air-Périgord.
From april 1978, the Languedoc company starts operating, followed by Air Littoral, Flandres Air, Protéus, Régional et Airlinair.
9th December 2001 : Mr. Jean-Pierre Conte, president of the Bergerac Chamber, and Mr. José Camacho, president of the airline company Buzz, decide to set up a daily link with London Stansted..
The new air terminal opened in 2009.

The first flight takes off on the 23rd March 2002. Since then numerous destinations have been proposed from Bergerac to Belgium, the British Iles and the Netherlands and the Airport has developed from carrying 61 000 annual passengers in 2002 to almost 300 000 in 2009.
2009 : end of the extension work on the terminal to permit the passage of up to 400 000 clients per year with a high level of security. The work was financed by the Aquitaine Region, the Conseil Général of the Dordogne, the town of Bergerac and the Dordogne Chamber.
